What a shame...they are making it so that it's near illegal to enjoy something even in your own home...and tobacco isn't the only thing...we are losing our liberties little by little.

Pete, I like to rate them to have a quick way to tell if I liked a cigar or not without having to go thru all the comments. I am working up a spreadsheet to see how my ratings will compare to Cigar Afficianado ratings and others. That way, if I have too much of a difference, I can give it a second chance to see if I still agree with my rating or not.
Anyway, I just got my free Serie N at Liquor Barn that was in this months Cigar Affianado magazine for the smoke out on 3/25. Grab one and we will compare notes. Mine is in the humidor getting to know all the other sticks better.
Oh, and picked up a Makers Mark 46 bottle while I was there.

This is starting to get scary. The FDA has a long road ahead in their attempt to regulate cigars. The buzz in the industry is that they want to add labels warning smokers about the ingredients and the possible dangers of cigar smoking. There are many that feel that the FDA does not have this authority under the bill that Congress and President Obama approved but who knows what the outcome will be.

This cigar is a me-too product that a guy in Germany copied after seeing my 24Kt Gold cigars at the Millionaire Fair in Moscow....Whatever you think about the idea, it was a big PR success for my stand (which sold luxury gifts). Actually the gold does not have much effect on the taste (at least my 24kt gold doesnt, wouldnt dare to wrap the havanas into 14kt). The cigars burn hotter, faster(increased chimney effect) and you do not have to relight them anymore.

I am one of J's regulars. This man is a guru when it comes to cigars. He has taken care of me from the first time I went in, until now, as a weekly customer. Selection of anything from Don Pepin, Rocky Patel, Romeo y Julieta. 3 dollar Nubs, to 30 dollar Pedron. He has a great selection, and great customer focus. He is more interested in having customers coming back, than trying to force them to buy a lot at once. 5 star, selection, and 5 star service.

I was in Louisville a couple of weeks ago for Derby and I saw the blog about the J. Shepherd store. I just wanted to say thanks to whoever posted it. Jason the owner was extremely hospitable and very knowledgeable, and now I have a new source for my Olivas. I live in Houston, but now I order all my sticks from this shop.

These guys have an excellent selection of flavorful cigars. Some retailers only stock what's popular, some only stock the names everyone knows. These guys stock flavor, no matter what strength you prefer. Oliva G&O, Caballeros,Don Pepin black and white label, Montecristo, too many to mention. No matter what strength you want, you will find a cigar that is not bland nor harsh, but has great aroma. A cigar store for those who love that hour a day enveloped in smoke.

I liked this smoke. For $5, wow, what more could you want. It is rolled very well, smells great, and tastes even better. I was impressed. This was the first of the Alec Bradley cigars that I tried and I have to say that it makes me want to try some of his other lines. If word of mouth sells a product, then I've sold quite a few of these MAXX cigars. I would recommend this to anybody from novice to aficionado. (The Ego would make a great golf cigar due to it's impressive length.)

This cigar was a very tasty smoke. It was hard to draw due to an overly rolled tip on the torpedo. Once it got opened up, boy was it good. It is definitely going to be a mainstay in my humidor, however I think I'll try some different sizes ans shapes before it's all over. The Serie V is a must try for any smoker.
